The John Size-trained Raging Blizzard (NZ) (Per Incanto {USA}) had been deserving of tasting stakes success after previously being placed in the top four at Group-level eight times, including at Group 1 level three times. On Sunday he got his deserved day in the sun with a brilliant victory in the G2 Premier Bowl under a cool and calm Brenton Avdulla ride.
Raging Blizzard is one of four winners out of the placed Magnus mare Perfect Beat. She is very well related being a sibling to four individual siblings, including the Group 2 winners Upbeat (Strategic) and Bella Martini (Stratum).
Being by Per Incanto (USA) and out of a Danehill (USA) line mare, Raging Blizzard is bred along the same lines as the Group 1 winner Bonham and the Group-winners Belle Fascino (NZ), Prima Bella (NZ), Lost And Running (NZ) and Faithful Feat (NZ).
The now 7-year-old was bred by Jamieson Park and was sold for AU$225,000 to John Foote Bloodstock from the lime Country Thoroughbreds draft at the 2021 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale in Sydney.
