Stakes Winner Caps An Excellent Week

Affirming the sectionals he produced to win fresh-up in Sydney last month, progressive sprinter Target In Sight (Nadeem-Xaaranthe by Xaar) made a winning debut in stakes company when he took out the Listed 1200m Testa Rossa Stakes at Caulfield on Sunday, and in doing so, crediting Nadeem with his tenth individual stakeswinner.

If the post race comments of his rider, the usually conservative Craig Williams, are any guide, Target In Sight’s rise through the ranks is a fair way short of its conclusion.

Internationally proven through the deeds of his Group 1 winning son Sterling City and the Group 2 winners Mujaarib and Tajmeel, Nadeem (Redoute’s Choice – Candide by Sound Reason), whose oldest progeny are just six, stands this season for $10,000 plus GST.

Honest Opinion (Nadeem-Agile by Canny Lad) won over 1100m in New South Wales on Sunday to round out a very good week for his sire which started with the impressive win of his son Exquisitely Sweet (Nadeem-Empherical by Woodman) in Singapore.

Locally our attention was split between the trial debut of the Per Incanto-Cent From Heaven colt at Avondale last Tuesday and the return to the races of the unbeaten LA and Pip McCarroll bred and raced Tie Me Down (Pins-Ashley Downs by Grosvenor) at Otaki on Thursday. Both horses didn’t disappoint; the Per Incanto colt particularly impressive taking out his heat in the fastest time of the day and Tie Me Down coming away over the closing stages to win nicely.

The unnamed Per Incanto-Cent From Heaven colt was bought from our 2014 Karaka Select Draft for $95,000 by Bruce Perry and is raced by the Homebush No 5 Syndicate and Lib Petagna.

Just wanted to say a huge thanks to all the team at Little Avondale for doing another amazing job looking after my mare and bringing her precious foal safely into the world. Always such a relief knowing they will have the best of care with you!
