Sweet Win from Per Incanto Mare

The LA-bred and raced Sugar Schnapps produced a stirring performance at Rotorua to open her winning account in style.

Trained by Guy Lowry and Leah Zydenbos, the daughter of Per Incanto and the Pins mare Shandream had finished a debut runner-up on the course before Christmas and had no trouble going one better in Matt Cameron’s hands.

“It was a very good win, she’s quite cantankerous and likes things her own way so she’s happy in front,” stable representative Nick Downs said.

Sugar Schnapps’ dam Shandream, who has a Time Test yearling filly, was a gifted performer who won on eight occasions including victory in the Listed Counties Bowl and was a multiple stakes placegetter.

History, tradition, family, good values and lots of fun. Also when we inspect an LA yearling we do so with confidence in the horses’ upbringing, soundness and temperament. It’s a theory that has worked well because with Dominic we’ve bought the likes of Redeem The Dream and the stakeswinner Sir Lovesalot
