Thunder in Motion is Poetry in Motion at Trentham

The classy Trelawney Thoroughbreds and Mrs C N Taylor-bred Thunder In Motion (NZ) (Per Incanto {USA}) has always had a reputation and he is now living up to it.

Trelawney were not willing to let the colt go for less than his $120,000 reserve at the 2025 New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale, a move that paid dividends when re-offered and sold for a significant $700,000 to Shijiazhuang Hongtao Horse Breeding at the New Zealand Bloodstock Ready To Run Sale later that year.

The Per Incanto (USA) gelding then entered the Mark Forbes stable at Cambridge and after trialling well made his debut when running a strong second at Taupo over 1100 metres earlier this month,

He showed he had come on from the run as he demolished his two 3-year-old rivals in impressive fashion at Trentham on Sunday by an ever widening three lengths in the hands of Joe Doyle.

It was a win full of class and it would be no surprise to see Thunder In Motion become yet another Per Incanto featuring in age-group black type events as the season goes on.

Thunder In Motion is out of the winning Rock ‘n’ Pop mare Joan’s A Jett (NZ), who is very well-bred being a half-sister to the Group 1 winning mare Allez Wonder (Redoute’s Choice) and a three-quarter-sister to the dam of Tivaci.

Joan’s A Jett now takes her record to three to race for three winners and in recent times has left a yearling filly by Chaldean (GB) and was due to foal to Sword Of State this spring.
