Winners Start to Roll in for Time Test

All the promise shown by Time Test’s progeny at the domestic trials over the last few months is starting to produce results on race day with another winner last week at Riccarton although arguably the best performance to date came from a 2nd starter in a deep rendition of a stakes race at the same course on Saturday.

Mary Weka, who was bred by Les and Janine Wallace, followed up a 2nd on debut, to lead all the way to win over 1200 m at Riccarton last Wednesday. The 3YO filly's success follows the win by the Time Test filly Elsie May on debut at Wingatui the week before.

Unlucky on debut when mentioned in the stipendiary stewards report, the LA bred filly Regal Giselle (Time Test – Ima Lady by Howbadouwantit) was immediately pitched into stakes company, against a very strong field of fillies in the Listed 1200m Canterbury Belle Stakes at Riccarton on Saturday. Her inexperience ultimately cost her any chance of running in the placings but the way the Shane Kennedy and Anna Furlong trained filly found the line will have given her connections plenty of optimism.

Regal Giselle, who possessed one of the best walks across the farms entire 2021 yearling crop, was a $80,000 purchase by her trainers from LA’s 2021 Karaka Book 2 draft.

Confidence in knowing that buying an LA product it has being raised properly and with their record of success in black-type racing you have a better than even chance of the horse competing at the pinnacle of Australasian racing
