LA Update 25 JUNE 2007 On national radio last Saturday, just moments before the start, even Sam’s cautious review, could not stop Towkrite ( Towkay – Kimberlite) winning again, this time over 1200m at Otaki in a R76 event. LA WEEKLY UPDATE 18 JUNE Towkay was represented by two placegetters Egotistic (Vain Lover) and Greed (Sobraine) at Avondale and New Plymouth respectively. Towkay kept up his recent impressive strike rate at the trials with Special Mission (Towkay – Te Akau Trek) winning most impressively at the Cambridge trials last week. Until last weekend you could have forgiven us for thinking it never rained in the Wairarapa. The farm has needed the rain and Sam will be kept busy this week getting urea onto the pasture. Last Thursday at Awapuni saw a well deserved win for Towkrite (Towkay – Kimberlite). Off the scene for nearly two years the full brother to Towzan has taken a little while to build to full fitness but the authority of last weeks victory suggests at least another win is in store before the winter tracks arrive.
